Texture Study
This series of screen prints and digital collages aimed to experiment a tactile-visual synesthesia in a destructivism manner. By alienating familiar textures into a new form of visual language, my investigation looked into the relationship between one’s subjective emotion and the one’s surrounding physical surfaces. I traced textures on different surfaces within reaching range in a specific setting with emotion stimuli(in this case, a seat in a cafe in London), with parchment paper and charcoal. Together with drawings in charcoal, I later made the them into screen prints.
