The ordinary wall

In this work, Chao focus on the issue of objective spirit dominating subjective spirit in Shenzhen, a metropolis in China, that possess solid economical strength yet little attention paid to individuality of urbanites. This work incorporates 3D scanned model, manually constructed digital model and “real” photograph, all of a same site and obeyed realism in certain degree. By contrasting fragmented and geometrically neat elements, they aim to express a sense of tragic death of anonymous individuality that provokes no empathy or interest to the authority and the general casualties themselves.
